**Before**
**Since Overwatch 2 Season 20**, the Top 500, which used to be the highest rank in Competitive play, has been removed and replaced by the Challenger rank.
This change has upset a large part of the Overwatch community because it is no longer a rank you reach but a rank you earn under specific conditions, and one that you can also lose, **Requirements to become a Challenger**.

**After**
**you must:**
**-** Be at least Diamond rank.
**-** Have 4,000 Challenger Score points.
Challenger Points are earned by playing Competitive matches. The higher your rank, the more points you gain per win.
**Example:**
-A Grandmaster player earns around 200 points per match,
-A Diamond player earns around 60 points per match.
Only the 500 players with the highest Challenger Score can become Challengers,This creates a Top 500 system that is very different from previous seasons, as it is now based more on playtime and consistency rather than purely on rank skill.
